Makara Beach

Makara

Amazingly, Makara Beach is just a half-hour car ride from Johnsonville (Wellington, New Zealand), the suburb where my family lives.  To get there, you drive through pasture lands where cows and sheep lazily graze the daw away.  On both sides of the narrow road are mountains and idyllic countryside backdrops.  Very peaceful.  At Makara Beach itself, there is a tramping site which I believe goes to the area where the wind turbines are located.  We hope to go back and tramp before summer is over.

Who’s that in the picture? Awesome place! Looks like a perfect place to meditate. Or escape.

Family friend, Toni. Yung kasama namin dun sa trip :-) Yeah it’s quite a nice place. There’s even overnight accommodations, we might try that one day.
