Sa Araw ng Mga Puso

11 February 2010 4 Comments

Maybe I am weird this way. Several days before Valentines when I should be busy with weekend preparations (because of a death anniversary, a niece’s birthday, Valentine date with hubs and my sign language classes), I decide that I want to make another photoslide of sorts. I actually hope to God that this won’t be a yearly thing.

Oh and deym, I really wanted Perhaps Love to accompany this poem… hehe… but couldn’t find the instrumental version.

Now, there are key realizations I had when I made this one:

1. It’s so easy to stalk Facebook friends and grab their photos.

2. A lot of my FB friends are high school batchmates I only remember hazily.

3. It’s easy to feel envious of other people’s trips and treats when you go through their albums and compare it to yours.

4. Then I realized that I upload my pictures in Smugmug and have my share of trips and treats… so I had no reason to be envious in the first place.

5. Most of my friends ARE married or parents already (so it was really hard looking for pictures of single people).

6. Most of my friends post pictures of their babies/kids or their nieces/nephews.

7. Most of my friends are in happy places, making me realize that I have actually surrounded myself with happy people living happy lives.

8. Those I know who had bad times are in happy places now too. Eeverything’s turned out better for them. That truly makes me happy.

9. I actually care a lot about them. I may not always care about what they say or think, but I do care that they are happy, have purpose and are inspiring others.

10. It’s a privilege to have so many people to call friends, with real life and internet friends all converging on Facebook.

11. After making this photoslide, how can I not believe or feel the love that is out there for all of us?

12. After making this photoslide, I need not wonder if people in my life were left sitting down.

A blessed Valentines to you all! It’s not the dates and roses and traffic jams to motels that I like about Valentines. It’s really more about realizing what kind, and how much, of love you have in your life.

About Mec

Mec does a lot of things half-baked except her true passions. A great moving force in her life right now is being a good enough Mom. She is currently taking up sign language classes to tap the rest of her brain into productivity. She remains crazy and prodigally blogs at MEComposing

I wish I had your talent for making these beautiful layouts and slideshows! I love the one you made for the Berks last year too. It looks to me, sis, that it’s starting to be a Valentine’d Day tradition. :D
